In December 2003 we visited Woodstock and had a look at a house that was for rent
There were so many wallabies in Woodstock.
And cows ...
Mid January 2004 when the wet season had begun we moved into an old house in the bush. The log Queenslander was built in 1902. Of course, lot of it was renovated since.
Front yard of the house.
Morning walk with all the animals. Neighbours were too far away to see you in the yard.
In the end of January 2004 we visited Cairns for the first time to pick up Timo's friend from the airport.
It was hot and humid like in Singapore (where we used to live before).
Drive-in liquor store.
Not a paradise. There are stingers in Mission Beach too.

Cane fields.
Banana trees.
There were plenty of green tree frogs in Woodstock.
In February we started keeping chickens. A friend gave us 5. The first night they all run away but Bluey carried them back for us in her mouth. She didn't damage them at all.
We didn't know that at elast 4 of them were roosters. The fifth one was eaten by something (a water rat?).
Our kitchen is so old.
Old windows made it look so dark. Also lots of insects came in when it humid after the rain.
The cats were coming and going through the living room window. The ladder was put for them.
Our back yard greek was flooding. There was water in it for about 2 months.
Yellow Kanna flowers behind the kitchen window.
Th house was located in the middle of cattle pastures.
Visiting friend's house. Lady was from Singapore.
Fields of Burdekin
